Protect the Arctic Refuge
A recent senate vote has set the stage for plans to open one of America’s great national treasures, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, to oil development. After many previous attempts, oil industry allies managed to sneak a measure into the 2006 budget proposal that will allow drilling in the sanctuary. Allowing this essential, eternal wilderness to be exchanged for a short-term supply of oil is totally unacceptable.

The US cannot drill its way to energy independence, but we can embrace responsible measures and real, 21st century energy solutions. Our country needs a comprehensive national energy plan that invests in energy efficiency and clean, renewable sources of energy so that we can end our dependence on oil, prevent catastrophic global warming, and not be pressured to destroy our last wild places. The good news is that the fight is not over, but in order to save the Refuge it is essential that you take action now!

Take Action. Save the Arctic Refuge
Write your congressional representatives and let them know you won’t stand for this attack on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Urge them to vote against ANY measure that will open to unnecessary drilling. Take Action Now.
